TASTING NOTES
2019
Cabernet Sauvignon
Summer campfire, white pepper, and bramble berry on the nose. Red cherry, cranberry and spiced tobacco leaf flavors. Smooth and delicious.
This wine has a very slightly funky nose. What does that mean? It generally means that a wine’s aromas are less-immediately reminiscent of fruits and more like smoke, cedar, and tobacco. Many wines that start out with a ‘funky nose’ quickly benefit from some exposure to air/oxygen to release the floral and fruity aromas. That’s one reason to swirl or decant a red wine.
The 2019 Cab has a very warm and smooth mouth-feel, with noticeably soft tannins. Smoky aromas redolent of a summer campfire, with hints of white pepper and bramble berry. Flavor components feature red cherry and cranberry, grounded with subtle notes of spiced tobacco leaf. This is a perfect food wine.
