Robust flavors and aromatics.  Bright rich flavors of dark plum, ripe pomegranate,

and red currant.  Simply delicious.

 

Our Estate Selection wines are often made in years when we considered making an Old Vines designation wine but felt the vintage didn’t quite warrant it.  As an aside, that often makes Lenz Estate Selection wines a great purchase as it delivers near-Old Vines quality for nearly half the price.

This particular wine has a very nice color; darker than the regular 2019 Cab.  The aromas seem to be raspberry and wild strawberry; but also minerally, with one taster noting a ‘slate’ character.  The wine is still improving with age and as we tasted it, it seemed ‘tight’. 

Flavors are big!  But are also soft.  There’s rich, dark plum, dark cherry and ripe pomegranate.  Others spotted powdered cocoa and red currant.  It’s a delicious wine.
